About Mason-Rite

Made in Michigan, built by a toolmaker

Mason-Rite started on a basement staircase. Our founder, Mark, was carrying his canning jars downstairs a few at a time, then heading back up for more, over and over. There had to be a better way to move and store them.

Mark had spent years running a tool and die company, building the precision tooling that manufacturers depend on, so he set out to design one. The result was the Mason Mate: a sturdy tray that holds six jars and carries them in one trip, then stacks neatly on the shelf once you get there.

In late 2023, Mark founded Mason-Rite, LLC to bring the Mason Mate to other canners tired of the same back-and-forth.

Why the Mason Mate is different

A tool and die background means thinking about fit, strength, and how a part holds up after years of use. The Mason Mate is built that way. Each tray is heavy-duty polypropylene with six individual cavities, two carry handles, and a design that stacks securely. It fits Ball and Kerr jars, regular and wide mouth, in pint and quart sizes.

Since then, we've added reusable plastic and bamboo lids with silicone seals for the jars you use every day.

Proudly made in the USA

We keep our production in Michigan. Making our products close to home lets us hold every piece to the quality standards Mark built his career on, and it keeps manufacturing jobs in our state.

Small company, real people

When you order from Mason-Rite, you're dealing with a small, family-run business, and our customers notice. Reviewers regularly mention our customer service along with the product itself.

Canners use Mason Mates for much more than shelf storage. We hear from people carrying jars of homemade soup to work, hauling freezer jars up and down the basement stairs in one trip, and finally retiring the cardboard boxes in their utility rooms. Many found us through canning groups on Facebook, and we're grateful for every recommendation.
